Born to a hill produce dealer Late Kudroli Mohammed and Khadeeja as their thirteenth child, Kudroli Abdul Rahiman literally built up the well known Kudroli Construction Company in Goa going through intense life turbulence that matches many bollywood thriller movies. The company was able to incubate and develop many projects that turned out to be pride of Goa and well noticed in the industry.
As a growing child, Abdul Rahiman was fascinated by movies. He watched the fast moving scenes of the world of fantasy on screen which obviously filled his heart with amazement. The stories of heroes who migrated to cities and scaled heights of success overcoming all hurdles did excite him and destiny had it for him too to don the robes of such a silver screen superstar not on the silver screen but in the corporate world.
As an ordinary Kasaragodian with just secondary level school education, Abdul Rahiman migrated to Karnataka first and learned the basic lessons of construction contracting business assisting his brother therefrom with handling an alien language and culture. Thereafter, obtaining license for construction contracting with the meger Rs 2000 gifted by his dear dad, he started business of his own, when unfortunately the supporting soul was snatched by fate in the form of untimely death and he was forced to return to his native village. Though the incident haunted him, he did not give up hope. The young man then went to Goa once again as a supervisor with his elder brother where he started many enterprises , but unfortunately success evaded him in all.
The saying goes that behind every successful man there will be a woman. But in the case of Abdul Rahiman, the lady was not behind, rather the loyal wife always moved with him, if not in front with unconditional love and radiating light and warmth to his dreams. The fortune, in the form of the entry of this gracious woman into his life marked the turning point in his journey to success. The wedlock with MA Hajira on Dec 24, 1989 carried its frosty fizz to the rest of his life.
He was convinced that whining at the setback and failures in Goa and Karnataka will only show up further closed doors. With renewed energy, Abdu Rahiman Kudroli plunged himself into hard work and his efforts started yielding results. CMA Construction Company was started by him and within a year, he secured Class A license in 1990 – a rare distinction for a start up company.
Brimming with the confidence that an A class license brings to a young man, Rahiman took up his first construction work with sky-high hopes, only to face array of stumbling blocks. Paucity of funds and lack of experience posed big challenges for him in the desiltingwork contract for which was bagged by him in Goa. At this juncture, his loving. wife Hajira stood with him like rock parting with her precious gold ornaments which she received at the nuptials barely a few days ago. Though the financial crisis was overcome, it was not the end of his troubles. Freewere reigning goondas who were residents of new Vaddem area which were infected with notorious goons started their interference and delayed the progress of the work which would have lead to a stage where the company could be blacklisted.
Kudroli, for once, felt darkness creeping into his eyes and a shiver ran through his body. He was advised to meet local MLA and speaker Mr Simon D’souza to resolve the issues, but he didn’t have a proper access to the speaker or his staff. Nevertheless, Kudroli, with his never-say-die spirit, did not backtrack. At the end of lot of efforts, he was able to finally meet the speaker in person. As Paulo Coelho said 'And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.' Kudroli opened up to the speaker about his trials and tribulations. Impressed by his frankness and hard work, Mr Simon D;Souza offered full support to him and stood with him to complete that work. That was the beginning of a new chapter in Abdul Rahiman’s life.
Issues of language, inexperience, nuisance from goondas and thugs, financial and labour problems…… surmounting all such hurdles managed single handedly, a new Abdul rahman Kudroli was born. The work, which at one stage was expected to entail a huge loss of six lakhs, ended up with an impressive profit of fifteen lakhs. The young contractor, who roamed around supervising his works on a rented bike, now purchased a car. Driving in the car on the Goan beach caressed by gentle breeze, he envisioned a brave new world unfolding before him. He could sense the depth and range of the ocean and believed that his gems and pearls lie beneath. Going by the lines of Robert Frost - ”Miles to go before I sleep, Miles to go before I sleep” - he worked relentlessly for a brighter future and it started yielding fruits.
In 2004, CMA Construction Company got merged with Kudroli Construction Company Private Limited. Hundreds of works in Goa, Karnataka, Kerala , other parts of India and UAE came his way- many of them turned out to be prestigious projects of the region. Cherkala- Jalsoor Road, Attappadi – Mannarkkad Road, Kottachery – Panathur Road are some of them in Kerala while Indi Branch Canal, ARBC Almatty, Mardhol Bypass, Eastern Bypass, Chappoli MI tank head regulator Canal etc are some of the notable works in Goa and Karnataka.The business empire of Kudroli spread its territory overseas with the establishment of AR Kudroli Developers and Traders LLC in UAE.

Kudroli’s close contacts include former Chief Ministers of Goa Ravi Naik, Manohar Parrikar, Luicino Faleiro.Maharashtra MPs Gopinath Munde, Rajan Vichare, senior political leaders of Karnataka like CM Ibrahim,Qamarul Islam and prominent Kerala leaders such as KM Mani, PK Kunhali kutty ,Formar minister Cherkalam abdulla,CT Ahmadali.
Kudroli’s brilliance in business bestowed on him several national and international honours. In 2008. he received Rajeev Gandhi Shiromani Award from Haryana Governor AR Kidwai. Dr Apj Abdul Kalam Excellency Award was received by him from Chathisgarh Governor KM Seth in 2018 In New delhi. In the same year he accepted International Leadership Innovation Excellency award from UAE Ambassador Navdeep Singh and also Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana award from Bihar Governor RL Bhatia and In 2019, former Thailand Deputy Prime Minister, Kon Dabbarnasi honoured him with the Innovation Excellency Award for International leadership.
Kudrolis are blessed with four children. Following the footsteps of their industrious father, both sons are now successfully engaged in business- Mohammed Ajmal in Goa and Anwar Rahiman in UAE.
Daughters: Dr Ansara Rahman married to Aeronautical Engineer Shihab and Asifa Rahman (student). Sons: Mohammed Ajmal (Civil Engineer) married to Nuha (Architect) and Anwar Rahman (Civil Engineer, MBA from American University Of Sharjah).
